Owner of railway bridges to be assessed and upgraded .The State-owned railway SNCF as part of SNCF Group accounted, in 2002, for .10.86 billion of turnover in passenger transport and for .6.34 billion in goods transport, and in infrastructure maintenance and management services, asset management and sale of know-how for .4.96 billion of turnover.

The bridges and tunnels department of SNCF assists projects owners, infrastructure managers, project managers, architects and companies, at every stage from design to maintenance of civil engineering structures. SNCF's bridges and tunnels teams are organised to respond to the maintenance of existing structures studies (maintenance of 50 000 structures, some of which are more than 100 years old) and construction of structures on service lines, as well as to studies and construction of structures on new infrastructure such as new high speed lines.
