Universität Stuttgart Institute of Construction Materials
Institute information The Institute of Construction Materials (IWB) and the Otto-Graf-Institute, Research and Testing Establishment for Building and Construction (FMPA), are part of the University of Stuttgart. They are a successful and active body in research and testing of materials and structures on almost all fields of structural and civil engineering. Prof. Reinhardt is director of both institutes.
The FMPA is a technically oriented service centre and partner of industry suited to solve individual problems in one hand. It carries out experimental research on behalf of the university departments and provides technical infrastructure to the faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying for the education of students. Via this cooperation within the University of Stuttgart, the FMPA has access to the latest results of fundamental and applied research in science.
The IWB and its 50 employments are dealing with teaching and research in the field of construction materials. The research activities mainly focus to high performance cementitious materials, recycling of construction materials, fibre reinforcement, non-destructive testing, fastening techniques.
